David Butts, D.D.S.

Dr. Butts provides comprehensive dental treatment with a view toward long-term health and stability.  His thorough, meticulous, and detail oriented nature are critical to the restorative treatment he provides. Dr. Butts places great emphasis on patient education and views hygiene and preventive care as a critical element in a patient’s oral and overall health. 

After graduating from Williams College in 1973 and Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1977, Dr. Butts completed a general practice residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.  He has been in private practice since August 1978 and taught at Georgetown’s Dental School from 1978 to 1983. A lifetime learner himself, he regularly pursues continuing education courses to sharpen and improve his clinical skills.

Dr. Butt’s and his wife, a special education teacher in a Fairfax County elementary school, have two school age children. And when he’s not spending time with them, you might find him golfing, hiking, or outdoors with his camera.
